A national women’s group says they’ve found a disturbing link between the disappearance of at least two young women in Colorado: the modeling networking website site Model Mayhem.
The National Women’s Coalition Against Violence and Exploitation says Kara Nichols and Raven Furlong both had profiles on the social media site for models before they vanished.
“We’re not saying that Model Mayhem is to blame,” the non-profit’s president, Michelle Bart, told the Daily News. “But it’s a common denominator. They were posing in activity online on a website that most people don’t frequent.”
Furlong, 17, of Aurora, Colo. disappeared on Feb. 5. Her family discovered her profile on Model Mayhem shortly after she went missing and found concerning correspondence between the aspiring model and photographers.
